Rifle Sculpture PC-Browning Rifle
Browning automatic chromed Rifle. This is a twice life-size cutaway
training model and was made in Chicago in the late 1940s. Powerful
semi and fully automatic Rifle used by the American Army and designed
by Robert Browning in 1917. A perfect replica of the standard size gun
but of course was never made to fire, but is able to be full dissembled
and shows the travel out of the cartridge out of the magazine into the
firing chamber whereupon after the trigger is pulled the spent cartridge
case is ejected and the next cartridge is loaded. The action of pulling
back the bolt is carried out manually but on a real rifle the action continues
automatically after the initial cocking of the gun. The cutaway sections show
the recoil system, the bolt and cartridge chamber, the return gas tube. The
model was built so as to show and teach the troops how dissemble and clean
and reassemble. Exceptional piece.
